Striking Art Deco Chest of Drawers
We are pleased to offer this fabulous 1930’s Art Deco Walnut Chest of drawers with 4 graduated drawers, each decoratively veneered to match the top of the chest and adorned with their original bakelite handles. The handles are beautiful little works of art in their own right, each a bar of 2 tone toffee coloured swirls which is mounted on a pair of short cream cylindrical pillars. These handles have been removed checked for damage, cleaned and replaced and are in lovely condition. The drawer runners are all in excellent condition and ensure the drawers run smoothly. The body itself is veneered in figured walnut to its sides and the whole mounted on a square pillar base in figured walnut with a decorative moulding where it meets the floor. The overall colour is a deep warm honey colour with a darker walnut decorative veneer running down the centre line from the top through the drawer fronts. Absolutely fabulous little chest. Just recently been traditionally French polished by hand in our workshops. This gorgeous little chest has been thoroughly checked and is ready for a new home. Would work perfectly in any room in the house.
